Use the Lock Groups feature of the LockVue web portal to categorise your locks with similar functions or roles into groups.

Once a lock is added to a Lock Group you can give or revoke access to multiple locks and users in one go.

When locks are added or removed from a Lock Group, the LockVue system will automatically update users and teams with the new details.

This page will cover:

  • Creating a Lock Group

  • Sharing Lock Group Access

  • Renaming Lock Group

  • Managing locks in a Lock Group

Creating a Lock Group

Log in to the LockVue web portal and navigate to the the Lock Groups page by selecting 'Lock Groups' in the left side menu.

Select "New Lock Group" at the top right and in the pop up, create a name and description for the Lock Group and select next.

On the second page of the pop up, add in desired locks by entering their name or serial number, and press the Enter key to add in each lock. Once you've added all desired locks, click next and done to finish. You can always add or remove locks later.

Sharing Lock Group Access

Access to locks in Lock Groups is managed via the Lock Group sub menu. From this menu you can share the Lock Group, Rename it and view details.

To share a lock group, click the three dot submenu button and select Share to bring up the 'Share Lock Permissions' pop up.

  • Specify the Team or individual user to receive the group permission

  • Select the Permission Type and click next.

  • Enter in any time restrictions if desired and click Share.

For more detailed information about permission levels and sharing locks, please check LockVue - Sharing and managing lock permissions.

Renaming a Lock Group

You can modify a Lock Group's name, description and the locks that it contains through the Edit Lock Group function available via the Lock Group's submenu.

Navigate to the Lock Groups page, find the Lock Group that you'd like to modify, click the three dot submenu icon and select Edit.

The first screen of the Edit Lock Group popup allows you to change the Lock Group's name and description. Once satisfied, click Next.

Share as Admin

The Share as Admin feature allows you to give Admin permissions to another user for the locks within the group, and as an Admin of the Group itself. This means the user will have permission to change the locks in the group, rename it, and share permission with other users.

Select the Share as Admin button from the three-dot menu of the lock group. Enter the email of the user to give them access.

Manage Lock Group Locks

To manage the locks in a Lock Group, select View Group from the three dot sub menu. This will load you to a screen that shows you a list of locks currently in the group.

  1. Add locks to the group by selecting Add Locks near the top right.

  2. You can also Share from there, or...

  3. Delete the entire Lock Group

Deleting the lock group will revoke all permissions and is not reversible.

4. Remove locks from the Lock Group by finding the desired lock in the list, and selecting the rubbish bin icon. There will be a confirmation dialogue as this action will revoke all related permissions to that lock and is not reversible.

View current permissions by selecting the Permissions tab. Note: permissions cannot be revoked from this screen. Revoke access to locks by deleting them from the Lock Group on the Locks tab.

If you need any further assistance please click "Submit Ticket" in the upper right corner of the page.
