Use the LockVue mobile app to open locks and devices that have been shared to you on the LockVue platform.

This article contains a video introduction to the LockVue mobile app and additional detailed instructions. Please note that there are some superficial differences between the iOS and Android versions of the app, but the basic functions remain the same.

Login to the app is accomplished by tapping the Login button on the splash page and selecting the appropriate option:

  • Login with Email

- Login with or register a new LockVue account

  • Code Login

- An administrator has sent you a temporary code via SMS or email

Find and Unlock

The Find & Unlock screen is the main screen of the app. While the app is on this screen, it is scanning for locks that you have access to and are within range.

Some locks and devices need the user to first awaken or power the lock before it will start broadcasting and be able to be detected by the app. Awakening a lock is done by pressing the button on the lock and waiting for it to illuminate.

You unlock a lock by tapping the appropriate line on the screen. Coloured bars across the bottom of the screen will give you updates about the unlock process.

From the Find & Unlock screen you can navigate to other screens like My Access and Activity. Note location of the Menu 'hamburger' button on Android devices.

Note: Some lock types have extra options available through a Swipe or Tap and Hold gesture. Some also require to first be woken from a sleep state, usually but pressing a button on the lock. Refer to lock specific articles for further details.

My Access

The My Access screen allows you to check what locks have been shared to the account that is currently logged in.

Use the search field to find specific locks.

Tap the calendar icon to see the access level and any relevant time restrictions that your account has.

Activity

The Activity page allows you to view recent activity on locks that you are the Owner or an Admin of.

For unlock activities, you can bring up a map by using Force Touch on iOS or just tapping the activity line on Android.

For Android, access Activity via the Menu.

Settings

The Settings page allows you to change some parameters for the app and logout from your current user. The options available here will vary across OS and device type.

For Android, access Settings via the Menu button.

For iOS, access settings via the Settings button.

Troubleshooting

  • Check that you're running the latest version of the LockVue app via your respective app store

  • Check that you've allowed all the required permissions for the app to function correctly

  • Go to the My Access tabe and check your permissions

  • For lock types that require waking up, make sure the lock is awake, otherwise it won't show in the "Find & Unlock" screen

  • Disconnect from any other Bluetooth devices such as headsets or in-car handsfree systems

  • Force close the lockVue app and then fully powercycle your device to reset the Bluetooth system

Online Areas Only:

  • Uninstalling the LockVue mobile app

  • Switching off Bluetooth on your device

    • For iOS do this via device settings and not Control Centre

  • Restart/Power-cycle your device

  • Switching on Bluetooth on your device

  • Installing the LockVue mobile app

  • Make sure to allow the required permissions

Offline Areas:

  • Force closing the LockVue app

  • Switching off and on Bluetooth on your device

    • For iOS, do this via device settings and not Control Centre

  • Navigate to relevant LockVue App settings area

  • Toggle Bluetooth permission off then on

  • Restart/Power-cycle your device

  • Switch on Bluetooth and then launch LockVue

If your mobile phone coverage or Wi-Fi connection is poor, then consider switching to offline mode as this can lead to difficulties with logging in and unlocking.

The LockVue app can detect these situations automatically, and if it does, it will prompt you to switch to offline mode.

You can do this manually by disabling mobile data and Wi-Fi from your phone's settings menu. Please see the article Offline Mode for further information.
