The LockVue mobile app can be installed on a wide variety of devices running Apple's iOS or Google's Android operating systems.

The LockVue mobile apps have been successfully installed and used on over 300 different device model types from a wide range of manufacturers. However, we cannot guarantee that it will work on any particular device. See below for the recommended requirements for running the LockVue app and using it to access your locks.

LockVue Mobile App Device Requirements

The LockVue mobile app is compatible with mobile devices running Apple iOS and Google Android operating systems. Recommended operating system and device hardware requirements are:

  • Operating System

- Apple iOS 13 or later
- Google Android 9 or later

  • Bluetooth 4.2 or later

  • Internet connectivity at lock location

Devices with older hardware or running older versions of operating system should still work in most cases, but will depend on the specific combination of hardware and software.

LockVue Mobile App Installation

The app requires access to features on your device such as Location and Bluetooth to function correctly. The app will request access upon first launch. Please select at least "While using the app".

Below is a quick video with more detailed steps further down:

Provided your device meets the compatibility requirements, installing it should just require searching for "LockVue" in your relevant app store.

First Launch of the LockVue Mobile App

When you first launch and login to the LockVue mobile app, there are a few things that will require your attention relating to the app permissions. The app will also register with our servers to authorise your device. It is important that you grant the app access for the below permissions when it requests them. Denying any or all of these permission requests can lead to inconsistent app behaviour, and the inability to access locks that have been shared to you.

Required:

  • Location Services

- At minimum, select "While using the app" or similar option

  • Bluetooth

- For communicating with locks

  • Notifications

- Allows the device to register with the LockVue server

Recommended:

  • Camera

- Some users may set up their locks to require scanning a QR code before unlocking

If you have denied a permission, you can restore the access by going to your device's settings menu and adjusting permissions for the LockVue app. Common steps to get to settings:

  • iOS: Settings -> LockVue

  • Android: Settings -> Apps -> LockVue
