The Noke HD Padlock has a user replaceable battery.
Changing the battery requires using the LockVue mobile app to perform a "Shackle Remove" operation.
This operation can only be performed by the Lock Owner, and users that have Admin or Maintenance permissions.
Checking your Access
Users with certain permission levels can access certain lock functions. You can check this in both the LockVue web portal and the mobile app.
LockVue Web Portal:
Using a web browser, navigate to go.lockvue.com and login using your email and password
From the left side menu, select My Locks and find the lock in question
Once you've found the lock, check the Permission column. The following permissions are required to be able to perform the Remove Shackle function:
- Owner
- Admin
- Maintenance
LockVue Mobile App
If you haven't already, download and install the LockVue mobile app from your app store
Login to the LockVue mobile app and navigate to the My Access tab
Find the lock and tap on the calendar icon to see your access level
Changing the Battery
The HD Padlock uses a CR2 lithium battery. You will also need to use the extended Allen key that was supplied with your padlock.

What you need:
Ensure the task is completed on a flat, clean, dry surface where components won't get lost
Make sure you have the extended length Allen key and a new CR2 Battery
Mobile Phone with LockVue ® app and Maintenance or Administration level permissions
Cloth and cleaner for shackle
Removing the battery:
Step 1 - Remove the shackle
Open LockVue ® app and complete the shackle remove option.
Activate the lock touch sensor
On Android, tap and hold the lock until you see the Shackle Remove prompt, then tap to remove the shackle
On iOS, swipe left on the lock to reveal the Shackle Remove option, then tap to remove the shackle

Step 2 - Unscrew the base plate with the Allen key
Insert an Allen key into the deep recess of the lock body to undo the bottom cover securing screw
Make sure to not lose the sealing O-Ring fitted to the screw
Step 3 - Remove the base plate
Turn the HD Padlock upside down; the screw will drop down out of the hole
Insert an Allen key into the screw hole, then gently push to release the Base Plate from the Lock Body
Separate and lay out the components
Remove the expired battery and store for approved disposal.
Step 4 - Inspect and clean
Check inside Lock Body and wipe clean any contaminants
Check Shackle and holes for dirt and grime buildup and wipe clean
Replacing the Battery
Step 5 - Insert new battery and reassemble
Insert new CR2 battery as shown
Keep moisture and dust free
Check O-Ring is sitting on the Securing Screw
Check rubber seal around the Base Plate is correctly fitted
Insert and align Battery Cover over the new battery
Step 6 - Insert Base Plate and Secure
Press and hold down the Battery Cover
Insert the battery end of the Base Plate into the Lock Body.
Slide over the Battery Cover and Base Plate secure lug into the keyed recess.
The Base Plate fits over a lug on top of the Battery Cover
Press down to fit the Base Plate, then using hand tension, tighten the Securing Screw.
Final Inspection
Step 7 - Final Inspection and check
The black rubber seal on the Base Plate is contained and not bulging
Run the Allen key over the base of the Lock Body to check the Base Plate is sitting flush below. If not, tighten the Securing Screw
The lights are working on the sensor button
Insert the Shackle into the lock position and test that it can be removed
